We are so excited to share the brand new website we launched for our client A Breath in Between. Not only was our client smack dab in the middle of planning the launch for her new blog and business but she's also a busy mom of 4 young kids! As you can imagine, she has a lot on her plate so we were happy to jump in and lend some hands to help make her project a reality.
This project was a little different than some of our others because she was really focused on designing a website that would be easy for her to update herself as she further developed her content and business structure. Something we really love about Squarespace is that once we design the framework of our client websites, it has a really user-friendly back-end which makes it easy for our clients to swap photos and change the text. Which is always one of our clients’ fav features and it was really key for this project because there are still a lot of wheels turning for her biz. This way, we were able to create the structure and connect the back-end framework that will support all of the features she’ll be using when she launches all while she could focus on other aspects of the planning process. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!
Caitlin already had a very clear vision for how she wanted her blog and website to be designed, complete with fonts, colors and the overall aesthetic, so our job was really to pull everything together.
Here are the main things we focused on during her project:
- Create a website that is user-friendly and easy to update post-launch
- Utilize selected color palette along with foil letters and secondary colors throughout
- Integrate blog feature on website
- Integrate scheduling and event applications that will allow customers to book a variety of services
After we decided upon the main structure of the website we started to put the pieces together. Because Caitlin is going to launch her business and blog with a few different components, we wanted to design a homepage that was user-friendly and would easy to add upon as her business grows.
The services for the business are still in development so for the design we went with something simple that would break up the different categories and make it easy for visitors to find just what they're looking for. She will be offering a variety of consulting services as well as workshops, support groups and local childcare so we also integrated an events calendar to make it easy to see when each service is available.
Another big part of the website structure was sorting out a booking system that would make it easy for customers to book the variety of services that she'll be offering all in one place. Another thing we really love about Squarespace is how easy it is to integrate different features to give your website the functionality you need. For this project, Acuity was the tool for the job and it's awesome because not only is it easy to integrate, but they also have a partnership with the service so Squarespace members get to use it for no additional cost -- which is a pretty sweet deal if you ask us! Acuity is awesome because it allows you to create a variety of different kinds of appointments, as well as block off time in your schedule for other activities. Plus, it links directly to your digital calendar and also manages the payment information which cuts back on the back and forth between customers and keeps everything organized for you. Can you tell we're fans of the service? So versatile too for different types of businesses!
Last but definitely not least, we designed the structure of the blog, which will house all of her content. For this design, we kept things simple and also designed a sidebar to highlight various aspects of her business.
Being a part of this project was such a blast and we cannot wait until Caitlin launches her business and blog! Mom boss coming right at you!
