Tell us your bold boss story!:
I've always wanted to write for a women's magazine. While studying English and journalism in college, I began my career as a journalist in the beauty and wellness industry in 2006 as an intern at Cosmopolitan magazine. I worked in the beauty department and shorty after became the Editorial Assistant of the department.
Fast forward to today, I've been freelancing for nine years and established the company, Jeannine Morris Media, LLC. and have since written for Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, Well + Good, Women’s Health, Self, PopSugar, Refinery29, and Glamour. I’ve also appeared as a beauty and wellness expert on major networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and morning shows like the Today Show and Good Morning America to name a few. I also have a monthly TV segment on NBC's New York Live, which enables me to bring my blog, Joyfully-Me.com, and Instagram content to life on air.
My message has always been clear – that with a few tricks of the trade, encouragement and support, everyone can live beautifully. It is through my blog that I aim to help inspire women to own their self-worth and celebrate the moments they feel most alive and well while providing informational beauty, skincare, fitness, nutrition and travel tips.
We're all about bold boss moments, tell us about one of yours!:
When I set my mind to something, I work hard and manifest it into reality. When I first went out on my own, most of my content was about celebrity beauty, but as I grew and evolved as a person, I decided to make the shift in my work as well to remain authentic and my audience followed and grew. I didn't want to just report on wellness, I wanted to own it so I became a yoga teacher and certified holistic health coach. I'm proud to truly be the expert behind my content.
